Leading Your Knowledge Worker Teams To "Well Work": Creating A Team Culture of Integrity That Pays

Speaker:
Doug Russell

Overview:
Product development and design projects are among the most difficult projects to successfully manage. The knowledge workers on these teams are subjected to enormous stress and often the projects still miss their goals. Doug will share his successful approach, used in three corporations, to lead knowledge worker teams to success while not burning the team out (thus allowing them to do "well work"). Doug peppers his talk with real-world stories and anecdotes and presents the information in an interactive and high energy way.

About the Speaker:
Doug Russell has 25 years of hands-on experience inside complex engineering project development teams for Intel Corporation, Motorola, Inc, Crane Corporation's Signal Technology division, and the US Department of Defense.

In that time Doug held a variety of team leadership roles including project engineer, program manager, manufacturing manager, business (profit and loss) program manager, proposal manager, manager of program managers, and Director of Programs. Doug also taught a team leadership course at Motorola University and a risk management class at Intel University.

Doug has an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Clemson University. Doug also was inducted into Eta Kappa Nu, the Electrical Engineering Honor Society and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Program Management Institute.
